Beautiful day for a match and a pretty good turnout with eleven shooters; five Level 1 and six Level 2’s. Good to have Will and Billy Dunlap return after a long absence.
Had four regular stages and then Billy Haynes ran an additional fifth (for fun) stage giving us a chance to see how remarkable were the shooting skills required by the recent 22 year old Greenwood Mall hero, Elisjsha Dicken. Truly an amazing accomplishment, especially when you consider the stress a defender would face under such circumstances. Billy Haynes and a couple of our other shooters did well but some, like me, would probably be better off throwing a coke bottle or two and then high-tailing it to the nearest exit. Need to work on my “scampering” skills more than shooting maybe!

Sept. 10th will be a Rifle/Pistol day at the range with near/far, large/small targets so get in some practice before then.
Thanks to all for helping run these matches and particularly to Jerry Lock and Billy Haynes for all that they do. They spend a lot of time and effort thinking up and then constructing our events to give us all some challenging set-ups.
Let me know if you have any ideas you’d like to see for a stage using either rifle, pistol or both. If it can be done safely, we’ll give it our best shot!
