What a beautiful day to be outside with fellow shooters enjoying the excitement of some friendly pistol competition! Some matches are just special and this was certainly one of those. Much credit goes to Billy for his expertise in creating and pretty much running the entire first two stages as we attempted to determine how many potential Sky Marshalls we had in the ranks of the RGC Action “Gang”. Uh….we got some work to do…. Many thanks also to Jerry for his calm and deliberate calculations while scoring one of the most tedious set of score sheets we’ve ever tallied up. As always, thanks to you shooters for keeping the stages running in good order and making safety on the range our number one priority. Today’s winners: Level 1: Wentian He(10); Dylan Despain(11/61.26 secs.); Alan Ritchie(11/93.2secs.); Emily Haynes(13) Level 2: Billy Haynes(6); Boyce Lomax(8); Jeff Lewis (11); Dick Williams (15) Next month ..Saturday, June 8th.. will be a Pistol/Shotgun day at RGC so get your gear together and do some practicing in the meantime. You’ll need a holster and mag pouches for your pistol; a pump or auto shotgun capable of holding at least four or five shells and you’ll need to practice some shotgun reloading while on the move using some sort of pouch or shell holder to make for easy access to your ammo. Any gauge shotgun is permitted in “our” events but shotshells are only allowed using #7 1/2 or #8 shot….no buckshot or slugs will be needed at any time in this match and you are asked to leave those at home to prevent their being accidentally mixed in with the small size shotshells. Contact me if you have questions and meanwhile enjoy your freedom to get those guns out and make yourself familiar with handling them. Take care and stay safe, Dick Williams
