A little rain didn’t stop nine of us from taking the opportunity to send some rounds downrange & ringing some steel. Actually had very little rain & not too cold so most of our shooters did a good job of putting their pistols and shooting skills to the test.
John Kiwacka provided two intricate and challenging stages while I ran two more simple ones giving shooters a good of combination of short/long range as well as large and small targets to contend with. That, plus having Jerry keeping the scoring constantly updated as well as everyone pitching in to keep targets reset gave us a good fast-paced day and we finished up in close to record time.
After the match Jerry, John & I, with input from some other members, reviewed our match procedures to hopefully improve the Action games. Jerry came up with updated score sheets that will help to reduce errors and we will explore using a “handicap” plan so that Level 1 & 2 shooters would compete together should the need arise such as when we have less than three(3) shooters in any one group. Let us know if you have any other ideas or issues you’d like to see addressed.

Next month, March 10th, will be a rifle/pistol event. I’ll try to get you a note or two shortly as to what to expect.
