About this time last week we were socializing with our fellow RGC club members at the Woodmen of the World clubhouse in Denton after enjoying a great BBQ & chicken dinner following the presentation of trophies and cash prizes awarded to the top shooters in the Rimfire, Centerfire and Action Shooting groups. Many thanks to all who work so hard each year to put on this event, especially Wayne Broome and Bob Beaver. There’s something special about getting together with old friends and fellow shooters to celebrate another great year of competition and reward those who put so much time and effort into perfecting their shooting skills.
These are our top Action Shooters for 2017:
LEVEL 1..
1st-Gerald Lambert
2nd-Jerry Lock
3rd-Dennis Jennings
4th-Danny Coggin
LEVEL2..
1st-Jeff Lewis
2nd-Billy Haynes

4th-John Kiwacka
RGC’s Most Improved Shooter..Jeff Lewis
Thanks to all of you for the high level of sportsmanship you displayed in 2017 and we’re looking forward to an equally great 2018!
Pistol/only preview for Feb. 10th: Jerry Lock, John Kiwacka and I will be coming up with four stages devoted to the ringing of steel, both great and small. Bring 100 rounds of ammo, four mags if you have them, holster, mag pouches eye/ear protection. We will plan on keeping things moving rapidly. Practice those mag changes this week!
Good news maybe; so far, next Saturday’s weather looks like about 50 degrees with only a minimal chance of precipitation but too early to say “Hooray” yet.
Ya’ll come and bring a new shooter if you can. A pistol/only match is always a great place to get them started. Just be sure they know their pistol and how to safely use it before match day.
