Picture-perfect day for a match with ten Level 1 shooters and six Level 2s.
The fun started with “The Mover” and it’s clay target arrangement going back and forth. Next was a simple double steel silhouette deal and a paper plate along with an unfamiliar back up gun to contend with.
John Kiwacka and Paul Connor provided the next two stages of multiple steel and paper targets with shooter movement and lots of tactical challenges. Thanks guys for these two well planned and well executed set-ups.
Many thanks to all of our shooters for their help in making things run smoothly by helping with scoring and set-up. Your cooperation was even more appreciated than usual due to John and I needing to fill in the gap created by Jerry’s absence this month. Looking forward to his return!
Also, welcome to Mandy and Katie Cheek who showed up with patriarch Jeremy Cheek. Hope you enjoyed the games enough that you’ll want to come back for another day at RGC. Would love to have enough ladies for a separate division!
TODAY’s WINNERS:
Level 1…James Therrell(8), Ronnie Lambert(9), Brian Kurzell(11), Paul Connor(14)
Level 2…Billy Haynes(6-115.82), Jeff Lewis(6-128.27), Dick Williams(14), John Kiwacka(16).
Next month will be a PISTOL/SHOTGUN MATCH. Bring fifty(50) shot shells——- #7 1/2 or #8 shot only. Also, bring ten(10) rifled slugs. Try to find some low-recoil slugs and do your shoulder a favor unless you just really enjoy self punishment. We may or may not have a “slug” event; that is to be determined shortly, but meanwhile you can get some for future use. “Please” be sure to keep these totally separate from your regular shot shells.
Call or e-mail me with any concerns or suggestions regarding all phases of our Action Matches. We may be making a few changes next year so your input is appreciated. For instance, you wanted to send more rounds downrange and I think we accomplished that in this past match so let us know what you want to see.
Say safe,
Dick
