A pretty full slate of 18 shooters today; ten Level 1’s and eight Level 2’s but we managed to get in four stages and enjoy a beautiful day at RGC. My thanks to Jerry Lock for his stage as well as his great assistance in scoring and to Paul Connor for stepping up in John Kiwacka’s absence and giving us a fast last stage, all steel, finale. Sincere thanks to all of you who helped with the busy target changes and scoring we encountered today.
Today’s winners in Level 1:
Mitch Stirewalt(10), Charles Boolba(12), Bob Beaver(13), Paul Connor(14)
Today’s winners in Level 2:
Jeff Lewis(5), Billy Haynes(8), James Therrell(11), Gerald Lambert(17)
Special congratulations to Mitch Stirewalt for winning his group, especially as he is very new to the competition game. Hope he’ll continue with us. Another shout out to Bob Beaver for shooting a best in match 227 out of a possible 300 on a rifle/pistol combo event while under time and unusual shooting position stress. Must be that old military training coming out… even after all these years…way to go Bob, Moe &
AK 5.56!
Next month will be a pistol/only match so bring enough ammo, safety equipment, holster, mag carriers and three mags if you have them. We welcome new shooters always and the pistol/only events make the learning curve a lot less stressful so don’t leave them at home. If nothing else a newby can take your video as you mow down those scary steel targets and perforate the unforgiving paper ones. Hope to see you on Saturday April 11th.
